GUEST LECTURER BY PROF SUNARYO KARTADINATA AT MOH AMIEN FIPP UNY: ANSWERING THE CHALLENGES OF EDUCATION IN THE DIGITAL ERA

Yogyakarta – Prof. Sunaryo Kartadinata, a Professor of Pedagogics in Guidance and Counseling from Indonesia University of Education (UPI), gave a guest lecture at the Faculty of Education and Psychology (FIPP) of Yogyakarta State University (UNY). The event, which took place at 08.00-10.00 WIB, was attended by several important officials and academics within FIPP UNY.

Present at the event included the Dean of FIPP UNY, the Vice Deans from various fields, Heads and Secretaries of Departments, as well as Public Relations and Information Systems FIPP.

The event opened with remarks from the MC, followed by remarks from the Deputy Dean for Academic, Student Affairs, and Alumni, before continuing with a group photo session.

Prof. Sunaryo Kartadinata in his lecture discussed various important aspects of education today that are experiencing a shift in values and systems, along with the social changes that occur. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the human dimension in education, connecting humans with knowledge and wisdom.

Balancing Technology: Using technology ethically while maintaining human values.

Holistic Development: Preparing students for a sustainable future.

Heidegger’s view: Technology shapes human existence and the need for a philosophical approach to education.

Prof. Sunaryo also discussed current educational dilemmas and challenges, such as interactivity vs social isolation, information access vs information overload, and multitasking vs decreased concentration. He emphasized the need to design holistic and adaptive learning environments, combine interactive and project-based learning, and balance technology integration with authentic learning experiences.

This event is expected to provide new insights and understanding for educators and academics at FIPP in facing educational challenges in today’s digital era, as well as preparing students to face a future full of global opportunities and challenges.
